Fitness and Gym Programs
Programs extend to all members of the San Antonio community to include people living with disabilities, their family and carers.
Too often people who have a disability are looked at and judged on the tasks they CAN’T do; rather than what they CAN do.
Exercise and physical activity is for EVERY body, and is the key factor in improving and maintaining overall health. The benefits of exercise are particularly important for people living with a disability as they tend to live a less active lifestyle than others.

IDC’s Young Wallabies is a destination for kids to fall in love with movement and fitness, a place that supports skill development and inspires kids to move their bodies through their most important developmental years.
Did you know that 8 out of 10 American kids aren’t getting the recommended amount of physical activity each day? At a time when they are most formable, children are learning that fun comes in the form of a computer or mobile device, and that physical activity is something that they only participate in because they have to, rather than something they enjoy and look forward to.
Making fitness fun
Catering for kids aged 3 to 13 years, we offer curriculum-based and speciality classes like Athletics, resistance and circuit training. Our success is measured through children falling in love with fitness.
We’re all about helping San Antonio kids grow up fit and healthy!
With a mission to Inspire Movement, we’re focused on mobilizing our little members by offering programs that develop the skills kids need, while also encouraging kids to move their bodies in and out of our gym. At the core of everything we do lies the principle of Physical Literacy, the integration of physical, mental and social capabilities to live active, healthy and fulfilling lives. We’re giving kids the confidence, ability and motivation to move and be physically active

“One of the most effective treatments for autistic people is exercise. Studies show that vigorous or strenuous exercise is associated with decreases in stereotypic (self-stimulatory) behaviours, hyperactivity, aggression, self-injury, and destructiveness.
BOXING WITH DIVERSITY- Training participants on the autistic spectrum to have more agility, self confidence & mental awareness.
This group is for young people on the autistic spectrum; including Asperger syndrome. Youth and adults with ASD, have difficulty with social interactions and exhibit a restricted range of interests and/or repetitive behaviors. Motor development may be delayed, leading to clumsiness or uncoordinated motor movements.
The goal of this program is to build confidence, social skills, muscle balance and agility. To assist in anxiety and stress management, coping skills, team building and leadership skills. Finally, to promote weight management, motivational techniques, self-image enhancement, performance and mental skill development.
COMING SOON-Hobby Farm
Hobby farm animals offer therapy and job skills for people living with disabilities. Hobby Farms allow people with intellectual and physical disabilities young and old, to learn life skills while collecting eggs, cuddle the chickens and dogs, sweep cages and pat and groom animals such as goats and other miniature farm animals.
"The therapies are very black and white — you have your speech therapy, your [occupational therapy] — but it's very hard to come across something they can actually interact [with] at their own level and I think animals do that for them."
"For people living with disabilities whole anxiety just drops and they concentrate on — whether it's patting the animal, or grooming the animal," also helps with the communication and the social aspects as well.
"When a child is interacting with an animal, they're often saying the words like baa baa, moo moo — some of those simple words which are actually some of the first words," So, having the actual animal there, it actually promotes their speech to develop.
Animal assisted therapy is positive towards a variety of outcomes, for example, it can help with socialisation and motor skills, engagement, participation, self-efficacy.
