As of the 4th of September 2019 Ideal Connections dsp Ltd.is a recognised and registered corporation in the great state of Texas.

Ideal Connections will be operating out of San Antonio, providing support for those wanting to realize true independence and community inclusion.

Two projects we are working towards in San Antonio are a Fitness and gym programs and a Hobby Farm.

Fitness  and  Gym Programs

Programs will extend to all members of the San Antonio community to include people living with disabilities, their family and carers.

Too often people who have a disability are looked at and judged on the tasks they CAN’T do; rather than what they CAN do.

Exercise and physical activity is for EVERY body, and is the key factor in improving and maintaining overall health. The benefits of exercise are particularly important for people living with a disability as they tend to live a less active lifestyle than others.

Our Boot camp and circuit style sessions are designed to provide busy clients with a simple, enjoyable and efficient lifestyle of HEALTH and FITNESS results.
30 to 40 minute sessions, inclusive of warm-up and stretches.
25 weekly sessions, covering early mornings, late mornings, and evenings.
Non-judgmental environment, where everyone works at their own pace, for their own level of fitness.

“One of the most effective treatments for autistic people is exercise. Studies show that vigorous or strenuous exercise is associated with decreases in stereotypic (self-stimulatory) behaviours, hyperactivity, aggression, self-injury, and destructiveness.

BOXING WITH DIVERSITY- Training participants on the autistic spectrum to have more agility, self confidence & mental awareness.

This group is for young people on the autistic spectrum; including Asperger syndrome. Youth and adults with ASD, have difficulty with social interactions and exhibit a restricted range of interests and/or repetitive behaviors. Motor development may be delayed, leading to clumsiness or uncoordinated motor movements.

The goal of this program is to build confidence, social skills, muscle balance and agility. To assist in anxiety and stress management, coping skills, team building and leadership skills. Finally, to promote weight management, motivational techniques, self-image enhancement, performance and mental skill development.

Hobby Farm

Hobby farm animals offer therapy and job skills for people living with disabilities. Hobby Farms allow people with intellectual and physical disabilities young and old, to learn life skills while collecting eggs, cuddle the chickens and dogs, sweep cages and pat and groom animals such as goats and other miniature farm animals.

"The therapies are very black and white — you have your speech therapy, your [occupational therapy] — but it's very hard to come across something they can actually interact [with] at their own level and I think animals do that for them."

"For people living with disabilities whole anxiety just drops and they concentrate on — whether it's patting the animal, or grooming the animal," also helps with the communication and the social aspects as well.

"When a child is interacting with an animal, they're often saying the words like baa baa, moo moo — some of those simple words which are actually some of the first words," So, having the actual animal there, it actually promotes their speech to develop.

Animal assisted therapy is positive towards a variety of outcomes, for example, it can help with socialisation and motor skills, engagement, participation, self-efficacy.
